What is the ideal water chemistry for a Skypebble pool ?
Most people associate corrosion problems with metals, but concrete water tanks can also corrode from the effects of "ordinary" drinking water. If ordinary drinking water can corrode concrete tanks in 5 years, what is the life expectancy of a pool finish, and what can be done to maximise this life expectancy ?

A Water Balance Chart, which will soon be available as a downloadable PDF file, outlines the chemical balance which Skypebble recommends as the ideal water chemistry required in order to extend the life of your pebbled pool finish and increase the service life of your pool equipment. It is important to know that cement will dissolve in pool water until the water has "absorbed" as much calcium carbonate as it can hold under the prevailing conditions. Merely maintaining this essential ingredient, calcium carbonate, at or above it's saturation point will prevent the pool water from aggressively attacking the pools surface and other materials with which it comes into contact.
